ユネスコとなら国際映画祭が共催で企画する文化交流プログラムGrand Voyage with Africaが6月14日をもちまして無事に終了いたしました。

5月31日より約２週間、アフリカ大陸より５カ国より9名、日本より1名の合計10名の若手女性監督が奈良を舞台に短編映画制作を作り上げました。

２週間というわずかな期間の中、日本を知らない彼女たちがゼロから短編映画を制作するというプログラムです。この２週間で奈良をめぐり、多くの人々に出逢い、奈良の歴史、文化、現在の人々を彼女たちの目を通し、素晴らしい経験をすることができました。

このプログラムを支えてくださった方々に感謝申し上げます。
そして、私たちの拠点となった大和ハウスグループ「みらい価値共創センター « コトクリエ »」は、ホームとなりました。
大和ハウスの皆様本当にありがとうございます。
機材、テクニック関係のサポートをいただきました企業の皆様ありがとうございました。

ここで経験した２週間は、彼女たちにとって未来へとつながる一歩となりました。そして、それをまた、アフリカの女性たちへの勇気ともなるでしょう。

この１０本の作品は、9月に開催する「なら国際映画祭 2022」に出品いたします。上映を是非お楽しみください。

The cultural exchange programme Grand Voyage with Africa, co-organised by UNESCO and the Nara International Film Festival, came to a successful conclusion on 14 June.

For about two weeks from 31 May, a total of ten young female directors, nine from five countries on the African continent and one from Japan, created short films in Nara.

During the two-week programme, these young women, who had never seen Japan before, produced a short film from scratch. During these this period, they travelled around Nara, met many people and had wonderful experiences of Nara’s history, culture and present-day people through the eyes of these young women.

We would like to thank all those who supported this programme.
And the Daiwa House Group MIRAI KACHI KYOSO Center “Kotokurie”, our base of operations, has become « Home ».

The two weeks they experienced here were a step towards the future for these directors. And it will also be an encouragement to the women of Africa.
