In 2015, there were only 27 refugees accepted in this country. The rest of the applicants are left to live a restricted and forsaken life. Surprisingly, not a lot of Japanese people know about this problem. I found it to also reflect the lack of regard my society has towards the evacuees from Fukushima following the Great East Japan Earthquake. I wanted this film to be more than just my graduation project. I felt it was imperative to address this situation and to give the survivors a voice. I hope that through this film, people will be able to see the inner struggles of the refugees of all backgrounds, and that we never forget that with a helping hand we can overcome anything.
