Announcing Our Splendid Guests at the Opening Ceremony! Accepting Red Carpet Club Membership Applications Only on Sept. 12!!
Our wondeful guests attending the Nara International Film Festival Red Carpet and Opening Ceremony on Sept. 18 (Fri.) are now official!
NIFF Ambassador Takumi Saitoh, special guest Masaya Kato, 2018 Student Category Juror Masatoshi Nagase, our always wonderful photographer Leslie Khee. They all give so much support to the NIFF, and we are happy to have them participating this year.
This year’s jurors will also be there, Isao Yukisada, Nobuko Nakano, Makiko Watanabe.
We will also have some special guests, including guitarist MIYAVI, and model Ahn Mika. All of these wonderful guests will really light up our Red Carpet on the first day.
After rolling out the Red Carpet at Todai-ji’s Daibutsuden and having a special evening prayer, we will move to Kasugano-enchi and have our Opening Ceremony. As the NIFF strives to help bring up the next generation, we are planning a collaborative performance that includes DJ RENA, a 15-year-old World Champion DJ, a dance from Youth Cinema Project member Miyu Mukai, a Yuzu Nembutsu hymn, and a video from Masakatsu Takagi, a video creator who also creates music for films, such as ‘Wolf Children’.

We are accepting additional applications only on September 12th.
The Nara International Film Festival 2020 Red Carpet and Opening Ceremony are only open to Red Carpet Club members (individuals and organizations).
The deadline for applications had already passed, but with this announcement of our wonderful guests, we decided to accept applications for one more day on the 12th.
After the opening on the 18th, you can watch as many films as you like, so it’s a very good deal! We hope you join us.
