NIFF Safety Measures to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
Nara International Film Festival is taking the following measures in accordance with the “Guidelines for COVID-19 Prevention in Movie Theaters” announced by the Japan Association of Theatre Owners on May 14, 2020.
Measures at the Venues
  1. In order to prevent any long lines or crowds, we will be selling tickets through prior reservation.
  2. We will place alcohol-based hand sanitizer at the entrance of all venues, and request guests use it.
  3. At the entrance of every venue, we will measure the temperature of each guest. Anyone with a temperature of 37.5 or higher will not be allowed inside the venue.
  4. Wearing a mask is a condition to enter the venue, and we will provide masks to those who don’t have one.
  5. We will urge people to keep at least 1 meter (if possible, 2 meters) apart from one another at entrances and shops.
  6. At the counter to verify pre-purchased tickets, we will install a clear plastic curtain to separate our staff from the guests.
  7. Inside the theater, we will be sure to create enough distance around each guest on all sides.
  8. We will keep the doors open during the film to ventilate the theater.
  9. For every film, we will disinfect the doorknobs, handrails, and any other place that is touched by many people.
  10. We will regularly ventilate and disinfect the tables, chairs, etc. in our lobbies and rest areas.
  11. In the restrooms, we will regularly disinfect any place that is touched by many people, and provide liquid soap and manual hand sanitizer.
Measures for Our Members and Volunteer Staff
  1. We will check the temperature of all of our staff thoroughly throughout the day, and anyone with a temperature of 37.5 degrees or higher will not participate.
  2. We will have alcohol-based hand sanitizer at all of the entrances and exits to our venues, and will use it regularly.
  3. Masks will be required for all of our staff. Staff members who interact with many guests at information booths, etc. will wear a full face guard.
