(B1) [LOCK UP AND DOWN]

The location is Hanoi, Vietnam. Suddenly locked down, I am stuck in my apartment with my partner, not knowing when I will get to go outside again. A thirst for a new world springs up. This is the start of a time when I have no choice but to watch the outside world. This film is a two-month record, where the line between fact and fiction starts to blur.

Director
During the lockdown period, I was hungry for human connection and to have some contact with the outside world. Instead, I used a video camera as a telescope and took a look at the town of Hanoi, nervously. As I watched the town quietly, I felt calm though I was full of anxiety and impatience. Because of this sense of calm, I recorded my observations, which resulted in an entire film’s worth of content.

Hanoi, Vietnam. A lockdown by the new Corona suddenly begins. Two people are stuck in a condominium with their partner. They spend their days observing the scenery outside the window. They become grumpy, the local police come to investigate, and the videotaped world seems to have nothing to do with them, but the videotaped world seems to be empty, but in fact it becomes a memory of their precious life.
