THE OLD OBANA-ZA CINEMA

キービジュアル

OBANA-ZA, a playhouse and a cinema loved by people in Nara city returns for a few days in NIFF.
The theater OBANA-ZA which contained a revolving stage was built by patrons in town of Nara in 1909.
It was at the place where the hotel Sunroute Nara exists now.
When Nakano family in Osaka started to run the theater as OBANA Theater in 1920, it was the first cinema in Nara city.
While being lamented, the theater closed its business in 1979.
NIFF revives the theater in Sakura Hall in Hotel Sunroute Nara and presents various films on screen.
